Das lästige Eurozeichen ;-)

Hallo zusammen!

Kurz zur Info: Ihr habt keine HTML Berechtigung im Forum, daher wird € auch nicht als das gewünschte Euro-Zeichen dargestellt. Besser ist es wenn Ihr das Euro-Zeichen ganz normal über die Tastatur eingebt. Dann setzt das Forum dies selber korrekt nach HTML um.

Hallo Achim!

Ich habe das ins Forum so eingebaut, daß ein über AltGr + e eingegebenes Eurozeichen (normalerweise) in € umsetzt wird sobald Du den Beitrag abschickst.

Wieso bei Dir nun daraus € wird ist mir im Augenblick etwas schleierhaft. Ich schaue mir das mal an.

Welchen Browser verwendest Du denn und welches Betriebssystem? Vielleicht hat das ja damit noch irgendetwas zu tun.

Ich fahre meinen Computer mit Windows98 und verwende den MS-Internet Explorer.

das Problem liegt an der Version des IE 5.5 nach einem Update sollte das Problem behoben sein.

SYMPTOMS
When you use a META tag to set the character encoding (character set), upon submission, the Euro character is incorrectly converted to its Unicode HyperText Markup Language (HTML) entity representation:
&#8364

RESOLUTION
A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Internet Explorer 5.5 service pack that contains this fix.

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, note that if the character set is set through the Content-Type HTTP header, the Euro character is correctly sent as its MS Latin-1 extension equivalent:
0x80

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
